Big Brothers Big Sisters of Winnipeg is seeking a part-time caseworker, primarily assigned to the P.R.I.S.M. (Pride/Respect/Identity/Safety/Mentoring) program. This person will manage service delivery for the program, including enrolling, matching, and supporting mentors and mentees to develop positive, growth-enhancing relationships. In order to reflect, support, and advocate on behalf of program participants we are looking for a member of the LGBTTQ2IA* community to join our team.
The successful candidate will have a passion for positive youth development, relational anti-oppressive practices, and be informed by critical human service/social work theories. Some knowledge of narrative practices would be ideal. You will have a min. of a 2-year degree or diploma in a human service related field. Thriving in this role requires exceptional communication skills, conflict resolution experience, and a warm, curious and solution-focused approach. The ability to genuinely experience joy while working with people is fundamental to your success in this role. The primary tool of this job is conversation, coaching, and capturing observations and stories in writing.
This position is 22.5 hours per week must be made up of a combination of evenings, weekend, and daytime hours. Scheduling is flexible and based on the availability of clients for meetings. The position will start as a term until March 31st, 2019 with an opportunity for renewal.
